We invite you to enjoy an evening of fine dining on our beautifully appointed MOUNTAIN EXPLORER DINNER TRAIN as it travels through some of the best scenery in the Eastern United States.

Train travel and fine dining have been one of the great pleasures enjoyed by previous generations of Americans. As faster modes of transportation evolved, the magnificent long-distance passenger trains began to disappear, thus bringing to a close the era of dining car service. However, many who remember this romanticized time in history still visualize the unique notions evoked by this unusual combination of dining while gliding effortlessly past towns and rivers, accompanied by the rhythmic melody of the rails.

The recipes for these unique meals are original menu items offered on the great cross-country trains of the 1930-1960 eras. This is a time that saw some of the finest dining in the US being served as the trains sped across the mountains and plains of our great nation.

4-COURSE DINNER SERVICE

The Mountain Explorer Dinner Train is a 4-hour, round-trip train ride through scenic West Virginia backcountry, a four-course meal prepared en-route, and a memorable evening. IMPORTANT INFO

Reservations Required. No reservations after 1pm the day of the trip.
Departs Elkins on specific Saturdays at 5 PM.

Boarding: Elkins boarding area is located at the Depot on 315 Railroad Avenue in the Downtown area. Ticket office in Elkins is open 45 minutes to an hour prior to departure. Please plan to arrive early to pick up your boarding passes.

Cancellation Policy: If cancellations are made within 48 hours prior to departure, there will be no refund. If notice of cancellation is made before 48 hours prior to departure, a 10% cancellation will be charged to any refund. You may reschedule at any time with no charges for a trip in the 2013 season. Gift certificates can be issued for the full amount of the reservation at any time prior to the scheduled departure time. Absolutely no refunds on gift certificates.
