The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad is proud to announce its partnership with Rail Events Inc. (through Warner Brothers Consumer Products, Inc.) to bring the officially licensed train ride event to Elkins, West Virginia this coming holiday season! THE POLAR EXPRESS™ train rides are based on the holiday feature film from Warner Bros. and the beloved children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg, about a doubting young boy who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.
Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, pajama clad passengers will relive the magic of the story as this nighttime train whisks families away for an unforgettable ride to the North Pole. During the journey, the Conductor will punch tickets and dancing Chefs serve hot chocolate, followed by a reading of Van Allsburg’s classic. At the North Pole, Santa will board the train and greet the children and offer a gift for those who truly believe – a silver sleigh bell.
The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad joins over thirty other officially licensed THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride events nationwide this holiday season. The DGVR THE POLAR EXPRESS™ holiday schedule consists of 40 train departures in November and December leading up to Christmas from the downtown Railroad Depot in Elkins, West Virginia.
All passengers will receive their own THE POLAR EXPRESS™ ceramic souvenir cocoa mug and Bell!

Reservations Required. No reservations after 1pm the day of the trip.
Boarding:
Elkins boarding area is located at the Depot on 315 Railroad Avenue in the Downtown area. The ticket office is open 1.5 hours prior to departure and that passengers should plan to arrive at least 45-60 minutes prior to departure to pick up boarding passes.
NOTE: Please inform us by email or phone if ticket holders with different names are sitting together!
Cancellation Policy:
If cancellations are made within 48 hours prior to departure, there will be no refund. If notice of cancellation is made before 48 hours prior to departure, a 10% cancellation will be charged to any refund. You may reschedule at any time with no charges for a trip in the 2012 season. Gift certificates can be issued for the full amount of the reservation at any time prior to the scheduled departure time. Absolutely no refunds on gift certificates.
