2013 POLAR EXPRESS DATES
The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad is proud to announce its partnership with Rail Events Inc. (through Warner Brothers Consumer Products, Inc.) to bring the officially licensed train ride event to Elkins, West Virginia this coming holiday season! THE POLAR EXPRESS™ train rides are based on the holiday feature film from Warner Bros. and the beloved children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg, about a doubting young boy who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.
Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, pajama clad passengers relive the magic of the story as this nighttime train whisks families away for an unforgettable ride to the North Pole. During the journey, the Conductor will punch tickets and dancing Chefs serve hot chocolate, followed by a reading of Van Allsburg’s classic. At the North Pole, Santa will board the train and greet the children and offer a gift for those who truly believe – a silver sleigh bell.
The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad joins over thirty other officially licensed THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride events nationwide this holiday season. THE POLAR EXPRESS™ 2013 holiday schedule consists of 50 train departures in November and December leading up to Christmas from the downtown Railroad Depot in Elkins, West Virginia.
All passengers will receive their own ceramic souvenir cocoa mug and bell!

Reservations Required. No reservations after 1pm the day of the trip. It is highly recommended you book in blocks of four. Our trains are set up with four-top tables so we can serve you Hot Chocolate.
Boarding:
Elkins boarding area is located at the Depot on 315 Railroad Avenue in the Downtown area. The ticket office is open 1.5 hours prior to departure and that passengers should plan to arrive at least 45-60 minutes prior to departure. Don’t forget your eTickets. If you do forget your eTicket, come to our ticket window in the Railroad Depot and we will print you one. If you have a smart device and can access your email, you may present your eTicket PDF to the conductor.
2013 Polar Express Cancellation Policy:
Tickets are non-refundable 48 hours after booking. If notice of cancellation is made within 48 hours of booking, a 10% cancellation fee will be charged for any refund.
