Builders Information

DGVR #243 was built by General Motors of Montreal, Canada, in September 1952 as an FP7A for the Canadian Pacific Railway. CPR used the locomotive for decades before selling it to the City of Montreal’s public transport system, which later sold #243 to the short line railroad Quebec Central after several years of commuter service. QCR then sold the locomotive to DGVR in 2008, which painted the locomotive in its current Western Maryland Railway paint scheme.
