GROUP TOURS & CHARTERS

Many different options are available in addition to those suggested including an all-day, two-train outing, with meals provided. We can accommodate the needs of almost any size group, including arranging meals and evening entertainment.  We offer group rates on all of our trains for groups larger than 25 passengers.

Motorcoach Groups

Southbound Trip

The trip begins at 10:15am at the restored depot in Elkins, WV where you board the Cheat Mountain Salamander. This 45 mile trip includes unspoiled mountain scenery and a stop at the inspirational High Falls of the Cheat where we take a 30 minute break (prior to the stop at High Falls, lunch will be served onboard the train). Next, you depart High Falls and continue south through the heart of the Cheat Mountain Wilderness. You arrive at Cheat Bridge early afternoon where your motorcoach will meet you and drive you seven miles to Durbin, WV. Your group will then board the Durbin Rocket at 2:30pm for a 10-mile, 2 hour round-trip along the upper Greenbrier River. After the ride, you have two options. Option 1: Board your motorcoach for the one-hour ride back to Elkins for a buffet-style dinner in the new railroad themed Railyard Restaurant adjacent to the depot and the American Mountain Theater in downtown Elkins. Option 2: Remain in Durbin for a home-cooked Depot Dinner, for groups of up to 50, in the former 1902 Victorian C&ORR Depot.

Northbound Trip

Begin your trip with a 10:00am departure on the Durbin Rocket and return to Durbin at noon. A box lunch will be served onboard the train, or you may choose to have a sit down lunch served in the Durbin Depot. Board your Motorcoach for the 7-mile trip to Cheat Bridge where you will board the Cheat Mountain Salamander early afternoon. The train will make a stop at the High Falls of Cheat enroute to Elkins. This trip is the same as the southbound trip but in reverse. Dinner is served buffet-style in the adjacent Railyard Restaurant.
