As part of the Belington Old Fashioned Days Celebration, the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad and the Belington Revitalization Committee are thrilled to announce a special train ride has been arranged. On Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th of September 2026, the train will depart from Belington, travel to Tygart Junction, and then return. The train will depart at 6pm from the Golden Rule Building and return around 7:30pm on both days.
This train ride is a fundraiser to support Belington Revitalization Committees efforts in restoring and developing the Golden Rule Building. All proceeds minus booking fees and taxes will go to this cause.
On this hour and a half journey you will pass beautiful rapids and waterfalls as the train rolls by the confluence of the Middle Fork and Tygart rivers! Relax as you pass by old ghost towns and coal loadouts from a bygone era, all from the comfort of our train, proudly pulled by vintage diesel locomotives. This trip is the perfect evening entertainment for family and friends!
Plan to arrive early to explore the Golden Rule Building and grab a warm drink and a pastry or cookie from the Belington Bakery for your trip.

If notice of cancellation is made prior to 48 hours before departure, we will be able to issue a 90% monetary refund (booking fees are non-refundable). If cancellation is made within 48 hours before departure, there will be no monetary refund. However, you may reschedule at any time for another date in the current season. Gift cards can also be issued for the full ticket amount (minus booking fees) at any time and will not expire. If you paid with only a credit card, self-cancellation is available via the “View Online” link in your booking confirmation email. The Belington “Old Fashioned Days” Special train features enclosed cars with assigned seating at tables. If you choose the Regular Service at checkout, your car and seat assignments will be listed on your email confirmation/tickets. If you choose the Parlor Service at checkout, only your car assignment (P-120) will be listed on your email confirmation/tickets, and seating will be CUSTOM, which means that on the day of your trip we will pre-arrange tables to seat you together based on your last name and party size. If parties with separate bookings (i.e., Jones party of 2 and Smith party of 4) want to be seated together in the Parlor Car, please add a note to the comments section at checkout.

Due to the historical nature of the equipment and a non-standard platform, this train is not wheelchair accessible. There are multiple steps to board the train , but there are handrails to help.
