Itinerary
On October 2 and 3, 2026, this special fall foliage excursion will depart from the Historic Golden Rule Building in Belington, WV. The diesel-electric train–equipped with all-enclosed, climate-controlled coaches–will then follow the Tygart River on through Elkins, continuing along the Shavers Fork of the Cheat River admidst the lush canopies of the Monongahela National Forest. Along the way, riders will enjoy a cold cut lunch, which is included in the ticket price. The trip culminates at the High Falls of Cheat, an 18′ high, 150′ wide waterfall located in one of the most remote and pristine settings in the region. If you’re looking for comfort and spectacular views on a vintage train this is the ride for you!

If notice of cancellation is made prior to 48 hours before departure, we will be able to issue a 90% monetary refund (booking fees are non-refundable). If cancellation is made within 48 hours before departure, there will be no monetary refund. However, you may reschedule at any time for another date in the current season. Gift cards can also be issued for the full ticket amount (minus booking fees) at any time and will not expire. If you paid with only a credit card, self-cancellation is available via the “View Online” link in your booking confirmation email. The Belington Zephyr train features enclosed cars with assigned seating at tables. If you choose the Regular Service at checkout, your car and seat assignments will be listed on your email confirmation/tickets. If you choose the Parlor Service at checkout, only your car assignment (P-120) will be listed on your email confirmation/tickets, and seating will be CUSTOM, which means that on the day of your trip we will pre-arrange tables to seat you together based on your last name and party size. If parties with separate bookings (i.e., Jones party of 2 and Smith party of 4) want to be seated together in the Parlor Car, please add a note to the comments section at checkout.
