Builders Information

DGVR #67 was built by General Motors in La Grange, Illinois, in February 1952 as an FP7A for the Clinchfield Railroad. The CRR utilized the locomotive in many roles, ranging from local passenger service to excursion trains, as well as continuous use in freight service until the formal creation of CSX Transportation in 1987. CSXT continued to use #67, pulling hotshot “RoadRailer” trains and executive specials carrying company dignitaries. Eventually, CSXT sold the locomotive into private ownership, with the South Branch Valley Railroad briefly using #67 to haul its Potomac Eagle excursion train in the late 1990s. DGVR acquired #67 in 2000, painting the locomotive in the Western Maryland colors it wears today.
