NEW TYGART FLYER

This ride features two separate mountain grades, an “S” curve tunnel, passage into a 1,500 feet deep canyon with steep, densely forested slopes, and a high bridge over the rushing Shavers Fork of the Cheat River.

This smooth climate-controlled passenger train has gained a reputation as one of the most exciting mountain wilderness excursion rides in the US. The 4-hour, 46 mile round trip departs at 11 AM from the restored Elkins Depot on Railroad Avenue.

This trip culminates at the inspirational “High Falls of Cheat,” an 18′ high, 150′ wide waterfall in one of the most remote and pristine settings in the Eastern United States. THE PARLOR CAR

Our classic 1922-era deluxe Pullman Parlor car offers seating in cushioned armchairs and features excellent viewing opportunities on the return trip from the rear of the train. An upgraded buffet is available as well as a variety of dessert options. All non-alcoholic beverages are included in the ticket price (coffee, tea, soda, and water). A selection of wine is available for purchase in the Parlor Car only – cash only! Children under 12 are NOT Permitted.

Each ticket $62 – Includes food and beverages (water, tea and coffee)

Paid advance reservations are required for Parlor Car seating.
If available! – Tickets purchased at the window the day of the trip will be $2 additional.

Group Seating: Every effort will be made to seat groups as close together as possible on the train. Please let us know your needs prior to boarding.

NOTE: Please inform us by email or phone if ticket holders with different names are sitting together!

Boarding: Elkins boarding area is located at the Depot on 315 Railroad Avenue in the Downtown area.
Ticket office in Elkins is open 45 minutes to an hour prior to departure. Please plan to arrive early to pick up your boarding passes.

Cancellation Policy: If cancellations are made within 48 hours prior to boarding, there will be no refund. If notice of cancellation is made before 48 hours before departure, a 10% cancellation will be charged to any refund. You may reschedule at any time with no charges for a trip in the 2013 season. Gift certificates can be issued for the full amount of the reservation at any time.
