Join us Friday, June 19th for a special roundtrip ride from Elkins to Belington celebrating the history of our state and nation!
This 4-hour excursion will carry passengers on a leisurely sunset journey though the scenic West Virginia countryside along the banks of the Tygart River to the town of Belington, WV. On the trip, historic interpreters will move thoughout the cars as the train makes its way to Belington. Once in Belington, riders will detrain at the historic Golden Rule Building and be greeted to WV Day / 250th Anniversary festivities which will include live music, living history performers, food and craft vendors, along with various activities for kids.
The train will depart the Elkins Depot at 5pm and feature an approximately 2-hour layover in Belington. The train will then return to Elkins around 9pm. Don’t miss this once-in-a-generation special event!
No food/drinks are served onboard or included in the ticket price, but they will be available to purchase inside the Golden Rule Building.

If notice of cancellation is made prior to 48 hours before departure, we will be able to issue a 90% monetary refund (booking fees are non-refundable). If cancellation is made within 48 hours before departure, there will be no monetary refund. However, you may reschedule at any time for another date in the current season. Gift cards can also be issued for the full ticket amount (minus booking fees) at any time and will not expire. If you paid with only a credit card, self-cancellation is available via the “View Online” link in your booking confirmation email. This train features enclosed cars with assigned seating. When booking cars Concession-506, T-850, C-324, and D-1493, you will choose your own seats at traditional 4-top tables. When booking car P-120 (Parlor Car), seating will be CUSTOM, which means we will pre-arrange tables to seat you together based on your party size. If parties with separate bookings (i.e., Jones party of 2 and Smith party of 4) want to be seated together in the Parlor Car, please add a note to the comments box when completing payment so that we can make every effort to seat your parties close together.

Due to the historical nature of the equipment and a non-standard platform, this train is not wheelchair accessible. There are multiple steps to board the train, but there are handrails to help.
